Insurgent forces battle each other and a galactic crusade on a planet-sized temple, Dirge 

Dirge enters the solar system. It was abandoned by its creators for reasons unknown. New residents have claimed the octahedron-shaped planetoid. Monolithic creatures known as geists wander it. Pilgrims visit in hope of salvation. The crusade dominates everything it touches. And sects of zealots and scoundrels battle for relics and fame.
